
At CinemaCon 2025, attendees were treated to an exclusive first look at Wicked: For Good, the sequel to the 2024 film adaptation of the beloved musical Wicked. Stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, who portray Elphaba and Glinda respectively, introduced the footage alongside director Jon M. Chu and producer Marc Platt.
The showcased trailer delves into the evolving dynamics between Elphaba and Glinda, highlighting their enduring friendship despite being on opposing sides. Notable scenes include Glinda urging Elphaba to flee before being spotted by flying monkeys, and Elphaba’s resolute declaration, “This is between the Wizard and I.” The complex love triangle involving Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey) is also explored, with glimpses of Glinda in a wedding dress, suggesting impending nuptials.
Fans were treated to snippets of musical performances, notably Grande’s rendition of “For Good,” the duet that lends its title to the film, and a segment of Erivo’s powerful “No Good Deed.” The trailer also teases the presence of Dorothy and her companions, though details about Dorothy’s casting remain under wraps.
Wicked: For Good is slated for a theatrical release on November 21, 2025, promising to continue the enchanting narrative that has captivated audiences worldwide.
