ESPN 103.7 Lafayette and 104.1 Lake Charles and Delta Media Corporation brought home multiple awards in the radio broadcasting portion of the 2024 Louisiana Sports Writers Association Annual Awards which were held in Natchitoches on Sunday.
Matt Moscona and producers Matt Musso and Paul O’Neil took home first-place honors in the Best Radio Show Host (Solo & Team) category for After Further Review.
Raymond Partsch III, Dawson Eiserloh, and James Meche received second-place honors in that same category for RP3, D-Loh & Meche, while Jordy Hultberg and James Meche earned honorable mention honors..
Partsch earned second-place honors in the Best Interview category for his discussion with the Fabulous Cajun Chicken Russell Heim, while Hultberg took home third-place honors for his interview with LSU women’s basketball coach Kim Mulkey.
Moscona and T-Bob Hebert also took home honorable mention honors in the Best Podcast category for “Whiskey & Wine.”
Delta Media also had three different live broadcast teams receive accolades in the Best Live Radio Event category.
Partsch, Eiserloh and Chad Jones took home top honors for their collective work on the St. Landry Parish Game of the Week on News Talk 98.5 FM.
Blaine Viator and Chris Kovatch earned third-place honors for their live calls of Carencro High School football on Z105.9. Craig Wall and Ward Courville meanwhile received honorable mention honors for their work broadcasting the Vermilion Parish Game of the Week on 106.3 Radio Lafayette.
Partsch also placed in a writing category as he took second place in Prep Column — Class I for his column on Louisiana high school mascots need some seasoning.
