Hurricane Francine has officially made landfall.

The storm arrived in Terrebonne Parish between Morgan City and Houma as a Category 2 hurricane Wednesday with winds of 100 miles per hour.

Francine is moving through southeast Louisiana at 17 miles per hour in a northeast direction.

Areas of rain and wind continue to push into Louisiana and other parts of the northern Gulf Coast. Wind gusts of over 100 mph were recorded on Eugene Island while there is flooding in Cocodrie among other areas.

The storm is expected to roll through quickly and be out of Louisiana by overnight tonight.
