At the start of the pandemic in March of 2020, Acadiana stepped up to support local musicians who lost their livelihood through cancelled gigs. The community donated over $33,000 to ‘Lost My Gig Fund’, benefitting 106 struggling local musicians. Today, stages still stand empty, and full-time, and local musicians are still struggling.
This Thanksgiving, Social Entertainment in partnership with their annual partners and Acadiana Center for the Arts as the fiscal partner, are to launch the ‘Lost My Gig – Encore Fundraiser’, resented by Axis Behavioral Health and Recovery. The community is asked to step back into the spotlight, and to show it’s appreciation and support towards our local musicians ‘encore’ during this two-week long fundraiser. The ‘Lost My Gigs – Encore Fundraiser’ kicks off on Friday, November 13th and ends on Friday, November 27th.
